9th National Congress of Ethology

The 9th congress of the Portuguese Society of Ethology was held in the 12th and 13th of April 2012 at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, was organized by the Centre of Environmental Biology (CBA).

The National Congress of Ethology fulfils the role of gathering and updating the growing research in animal behaviour done in Portugal, and of promoting a productive interaction between researchers and students.

This meeting intended to gather contributions from the different fields in this area, Physiology, Ecology, Evolution, Psychology and Neurosciences, and to present an integrative perspective of Animal Behaviour.

The Portuguese Society of Ethology is a cultural and scientific non-profit association funded in 1987 that aims to promote the study of animal behaviour in Portugal. The activities of the society include the publication of the scientific journal Acta Ethologica (in collaboration with Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada and Springer-Verlag), the organization of scientific meetings, the promotion of international relationships with counterpart societies and the dissemination of Etology in secundary schools.
